Die Quu ist vom Eis

Quu.fm.

Tune in and rock on

  • Kontrolle verlieren, Fans gewinnen.

6g Brandfeed – Community-driven Social Media Monitoring

On our mission to building useful social web tools we constantly surf along Jeremiah Owyang site for inspiration and wisdom. Jeremiah belongs to a highly renowned group of social web analysts and his input is always greatly appreciated. One of his latest articles on aggregation of content on corporate sites could not be timed any better for us to get prove for our latest concept, the 6g brandfeed.

Based on our framework sixgroups.com, the 6g Brandfeed is able to collect relevant data from sites like twitter, youtube, facebook, etc. and present it on a microsite/widgets/corporate website. This public social media monitoring is fostered by rich community features. Users are able to comment, rate, and tag relevant content and so start to interact with the brand, e.g. its fans, critics and employees.

Jeremiah says:

[To regain trust, corporate websites will look more like a collection of real-time customer discussions –not just product pitches]

With our technology and Know-how, we want to help brands on their mission to become more than product pitches, to move closer to their users, to build long -lasting partnerships.

More on 6g Brandfeeds soon. If you are interested to learn more please contact us anytime.

next09 for your website

[English]

Share. This year’s theme for next09, the main German web event, nails it. The next09 opens its gates next week for 2 days of extensive networking, learning, and you guessed it, sharing.

We understand, enable, and believe in the share economy. It is the foundation of our approach on online communities and we are proud to serve as a media partner for the next09.

Our goal is to connect several blogs and sites with our next09 content widgets (get them for your blog here), which display all action at and around the conference. Visit the livestream to stay up-to-date or join the discussion by tagging your content (tweets, blogs, photos, videos) with #next09.

We see you at the next09. Please come around and have a chat with us (Andy and Philipp). We are especially looking for content leaders (publishers, sites, marketers) to explore the opportunities of co-founded widget-driven communities and vertical networks. See you soon!

Good news everyone.

Last night we released the latest version of the sixgroups technology and platform. We call this „the stable release“, you might think this is sarcastic because of minor and major hick-ups that we will experience during the next days but in the long run sixgroups will be far more robust and faster. 🙂

Some new features:

We removed the chat length limitation of 140 characters. If you are syncing your shouts with twitter, no problem. It will automatically cut off your shout and post a link to the shout.

Feel free now to post messages on user walls in external livecommunities. (Yes, you could not do so in earlier versions 😉

We added an Ad space to the Livecommunity as unobtrusive as possible (hey, we have to make money somehow).
In this regard we only show ads to users that are not logged in- so if you are logged in you won’t see ads at all (nice, eh?).

Get a Livecommunity for your Website now. It’s easy, fun, and free: http://sixgroups.com

All the best from the 6g Headquarter

Twitter and German football clubs: tribe management & crowdsourcing

Do we love FC St. Pauli? We do!
Do we use twitter? Have a look at our Twitter account, managed by BasisStPauli and friends!

But what about other German football clubs, do they use Twitter?

They do, and and the battle has just begun!

Here is a list of some German twitter accounts (and one international 😉 ranked by their number of followers in late December 08:

http://twitter.com/fcstpauli (127)
http://twitter.com/fc_bayern (111)
http://twitter.com/celtic (106)
http://twitter.com/hannover_96 (92)
http://twitter.com/tsv1860 (79)
http://twitter.com/dynamodresden (77)
http://twitter.com/altona93 (73)
http://twitter.com/S04 (73)
http://twitter.com/vfbluebeck (72)
http://twitter.com/Eintracht_FFM (71)
http://twitter.com/HamburgerSV (59)
http://twitter.com/vfbstuttgart (51)
http://twitter.com/1fcn (47)
http://twitter.com/kickersofc (34)
http://twitter.com/VfL_Wolfsburg (29)
http://twitter.com/MSVDuisburg (20)
http://twitter.com/Werder_Bremen (3)

Many of them started twittering in the last months as FC St. Pauli did.
But most of them, maybe all of them are initiated by fans! And surprisingly (or maybe not) other users accept these fan driven accounts as they were an official communication channel. Congratulations on victories, rumors about potential transfers, or player injuries are seriously discussed among the fans and the clubs,  which are represented by fans again. This is a form of tribe management as described in Seth’s blog and also some kind of crowdsourcing.

Did marketers sleep?
Yes sure 😉 but i think they didn’t even have a real chance to get into it, as new technology is emerging way too fast for most players.

If Twitter is really getting into mainstream and is established as a fan communication channel the same will sure happen to other brands as well.

Move fast now, and you can try to gain leadership in your tribe. The only thing you need is heart and soul!
Maybe you’re into sports or brand products and want to start before labels, brands or institutes try it themselves?

This kind of tribe leadership and crowdsourcing is putting people back in control, and that feels good!

Hey there’s a barcamp in town!

On the weekend of November 22nd the second Barcamp Hamburg will take place. After last year’s success this year’s barcamp will be hosted at OTTO Hamburg.

This time the (un)conference will be supported by a sixgroups.com Livecommunity. While the registration for the event is done with mixxt, the barcamp team chose a sixgroups.com Livecommunity to display the activity of the barcamp community during and after the event. The Livestream will be displayed on three big screens at the location.
Additionally the Livecommunity will appear on topic-related websites and enables visitors to contribute and discuss the media related to the barcamp that shows up on the web (i.e. articles, photos, videos, tweets published with the official tag „bchh08“).
If you are a blogger or if you have a website that centers on one of the topics of the barcamp or web 2.0 in general feel free to put the Livecommunity of the Barcamp Hamburg 2 to your website (note the Livecommunity-bar at the top of this blog). The javascript code-snippet can be found on the widget page.

We are looking forward to participating in interesting sessions.

See you at  Barcamp Hamburg 2!
